1. NEVER enter a cave alone.
2. Always take three sources of light per person (flashlights and /or carbide lanterns) Always bring extra batteries/carbide for each of these sources of light. Extra light bulbs for flashlights is also recommended.
3. Go with someone who is experienced with caves.
4. Make sure someone who is not entering the cave knows where you are and when you plan on returning.
5. Get the cave owners permission to enter the cave. (Only is some cases will not following this rule cost you your life *grin*)
6. Do not enter a cave when it is raining and looks as if it will rain. Caves flood very quickly.
7. Remember that caves are extremely fragile. Disturb as little as possible. (Not following this rule won't cost you your life, but maybe the lives of countless cave dwelling organisms)
