CS 402

 Fall 2000

Instructor: Dr. Krone

Final Presentation

December 11, 2000

Each team will take up to 20 minutes to summarize their semester project. The presentation should include the requirements, the design, and a demonstration. Team members should comment on why they chose the design they used.

At appropriate places in the presentation, team members should address the following questions:

  1. How might you improve your software process if you were to do another project with similar requirements? Chapter 25
  2. What quality standards did your team agree to and how did you meet those standards? Chapter 24
  3. How did your team prepare for evolution? What aspects of your design will make maintenance easy? What aspects will make maintenance difficult? How could you improve the maintainability? Chapter 27
  4. Explain how configuration management could be a challenge when your project is put into practice. How would your team address the CM challenge? Chapter 29

Two major questions:

  1. What aspects of your team project would you change and how? This includes both product and process.
  2. What aspects of your team project would you recommend to the software engineering community and why?

Note: 20 minutes sounds like a lot of time, but it will go very quickly. Be sure to time your presentation so you will answer the questions without redundancies. Your will want to present your best arguments when addressing the issues above.

For the demonstration you will want to use inputs for which you know the results and you will want to cover as much of the functionality of the project software as is feasible.
