This is my first year at Denison University. Before coming here, I taught at Union College, The George Washington University and Howard University. I recently published Athena's Justice: Athena, Athens and the Concept of Justice in Greek Tragedy and have begun preliminary work on a monograph on the relationship between imperialism, tragedy and identity formation in Athens, tentatively titled Tragic Imperialism: Greek Tragedy and Imperial Identity in Ancient Athens. Along with research, I enjoy teaching a variety of classes including Greek and Latin, Greek and Roman history and courses on barbarians and ancient ethnography, on the relationship between art and politics in the ancient world and on ancient governments. I also have recently appeared on a number of episodes in a new History Channel series, Clash of the Gods.
