FYS 102
Advice regarding the on-line exercises

General

Physics is not necessarily and easy course. It is even harder if you fall behind in the material. That is why there is suggested homework (and solutions) for you to do.
In order to help you learn the material, and to help you gauge you progress as the term progresses, this course requires on-line exercises of you.

These exercises will contain both multiple choice, and numerical problems. In order that you be able to use these quizzes to help you learn (instead of just generating another grade), there are two important things you should remember:

  1. The exercises each week are based on the homework material that you should be doing that week. This should help you keep pace with the course, and gauge your understanding.
  2. The exercises can be taken as often as you would like between the time they are posted, and the due date. Only your last result will be recorded.

Procedure for taking the exercises

  1. Enter the home page for this class, and go to the quiz section (either via the buttons, or through the text link).
  2. Enter your first 5-digit identification number (given to you in class) as your ID, and the second 5-digit identification number (given to you in class) as your password.
  3. Click on the "Begin" button.
  4. Do the exercises.
  5. Click on the "Submit" button at the bottom of the page. This will submit the results and grade the exercises.
  6. Click on the "done" link after seeing your score. This will return you to the exercise page.

Materials allowed during exercises

You may use any matrials you wish while taking the exercises (books, calculators, etc).
You may not receive help during the quiz.
