Notes
Hausaufgabe 30%: Please hand in all assignments neatly typed or written. Please write name and Slayter box at the top of the page. Assignments will be graded on accuracy, thoroughness, punctuality, and neatness. No electronic submissions. Late assignments will lose points (if I accept the assignment at all).
Financial Times Deutschland 5%: You will present two articles from Financial Times Deutschland to the class. The Web version of this important business newspaper can be found at http://www.ftd.de/ Please provide members of the class with a copy of the article. These presentations will be peer-reviewed
Videoübungen 7%: Videos pertaining to commerce can be found at the above web site.
Interkulturelle Kompetenz 8%: Read the appropriate sections of Patrick Schmidt’s book and answer questions on the handouts provided.
Tests 30%: There will be a chapter test for each “Segment”
Final 20%: the final will be comprehensive, including technology component and intercultural competence.
Attendance Policy: You cannot contribute to class discussions and benefit from in-class exercises unless you are present and prepared. Any unexcused absence will result in the loss of 2% from your final grade. DO NOT MISS CLASS.
