Humanist Hermeneutics

This web page is an invitation to a new course offering for the fall and spring of next year. Professor John Arthos is teaching “Humanist Hermeneutics,” (HNRS 283/COMM 283), described in the above menu links.  The class is offered through Honors, and is available to Communication students by permission of the instructor.   The seminar-style class will feature discussion in small classroom setting with lots of practical activities.
This course is conceived as an introduction to the humanities, and provides a unique theoretical and practical orientation to the idea of a liberal education.  It combines a blend of fun and relevant student projects with a searching theoretical inquiry into the nature of human understanding and action.
Communication students may enroll in the course with the permission of instructor.
